Collegiate Conference

The American Marketing Association at ASU attends the International AMA Collegiate Conference annually in New Orleans during the spring semester. Different chapters from around the country participate in friendly competitions and network with each other while attending speaker sessions and learning new leading edge marketing practices.

This event brings the best and brightest marketing students from AMA chapters together for three days of learning, networking, and fun. Sessions include talks from high profile experienced marketers as well as collegiate members sharing best practices. Over two hundred awards are presented during the event. The SABRE, Northwestern Mutual Sales, chapter exhibit and chapter T-shirt competitions all take place during the conference. In addition, experience the great city of New Orleans up close and personal.

This year, nine members attended the 32nd Annual Collegiate Conference. We participated in the SABRE business plan simulation competition and the booth exhibit. Our theme for the booth exhibit was "Above and Beyond" featuring Buzz Lightyear from Toy Story. We included a contest in which we placed 2D codes on different planets that when read by smartphones, would give clues as to where to go next to reach the final prize: an Ipod Shuffle. As other AMA chapters went through the codes, they learned about the AMAASU chapter and all of the activities we have done this year. Our booth exhibit was very successful, bringing us in a 2nd place award for communication of chapter activities.

Our chapter is proud to have brought home 6 awards from the 32nd Annual Collegiate Conference:
Recognition of Top 20 Chapters
2nd Place - Communication of Chapter Activities in Booth Exhibit
3rd Place -Website
Outstanding Chapter Planning
Outstanding Fundraising
Outstanding Career Development
